Sharon Wherry |

In 1995 Sharon joined Lincoln Rotary Club #14 (320 members) serving as president in 2004-05 and Assistant District Governor 2005-07.
Sharon grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, with a
degree in Political Science. She worked in the Office of Legislation for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. before moving to Nebraska. In Lincoln she started the Public Affairs Office of the Nebraska Department of Environmental Control. Over the years, she served as Vice-President of Sales and Service for Paramount Linen, Marketing Manager for American Premier Leather, Manager of Women’s Healthiness, Account Executive for Three Eagles Communications and is currently with Time Warner Cable Media Sales in Lincoln.
Sharon and her husband Dan, an attorney and also a member of Lincoln Rotary Club #14, are both Paul Harris Fellows. They enjoy traveling, sailing, reading, golfing, and gardening. Their daughter Beth is Associate Business Manager of Kraft Foodservice in Chicago and their son Chris Technical Account Manager for the Central Region at Appian Corp in Washington, DC. (Dan)

Chris is the founder and President of DKC Properties, Inc., an apartment development & property
management company. Over the last 23 years DKC has built and operated apartments in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio,Missouri and Minnesota. He is involved with many service organizations. An active hunter and fisherman, Chris currently is the President of Minnesota Turn-In-Poachers and has been a board member since 1998.Chris has other causes he is actively involved with. He is an active board member of Mental Health Resources, the largest non-profit provider of mental health (depression) and supportive housing services for individuals in the Twin Cities.
Chris is an Eagle Scout, and has served in various leadership capacities ranging from starting a Cub Scout pack, to coordinating Eagle Scout board of reviews. He serves on the advisory council of the newNorthern Star Council. Chris received a BA in Political Science and Economics from Williams College in 1980 and an MBA in Venture Capital from the University of St. Thomas in 1989. He became licensed as a CPA in Minnesota in 1982 and has continued with a niche specialty in medical practices – valuation and tax.
Chris and his wife Jessica (married 25 years) live in Wayzata and they have two boys. Jessica (Jessie) was a commercial lender for Northwest bank when the Holm’s were first married. After their second child, she chose to become a full time Mom. Jessie has been a professional volunteer for the last 17years
Chris joined the Wayzata Rotary club in 1998, serving in various capacities until he was President in
1995-1996. In 2000 he joined Minneapolis #9 Rotary and served on its board for one year. He has been involved with various district committees since 1996 serving in membership, special projects, district conference committees, and currently is the vocational service chair and resource coordinator for District 5950. Roy Sjoberg is the founding shareholder and President of Sjoberg & Tebelius, P.A. He is a member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin State Bar Associations and the Ramsey County and St. Croix Valley Bar Associations. Roy was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" by the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce in 2001. He was past President of the Hudson Daybreak Rotary Club and now serves on the Rotary Districts 5950/5960 Youth Exchange Board of Directors. Roy serves on
numerous community and church Boards of Directors in addition to his Rotary commitments.
Roy gained his B.S. from the U of MN College of Education in 1975, a J.D. from the U of MN School of Law in 1982, a CLU from the American College in 1982 and ChFC from the American College in 1983. He has been designated a "Super Lawyer" in estate planning by the publications, Twin Cities and Minnesota Law and Politics. Roy lectures frequently to various legal, accounting, insurance and financial planning groups.
He and his artistic wife, Lana, reside in Hudson, Wisconsin along with their two sons, Christopher and David. Christopher spent the 2005-2006 school year in Copiapo, Chile as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student. David will graduate high School in the spring of 2008. Lana has volunteered for many community organizations including Junior Achievement, the Reading Railroad, Visual Arts

William Jacobson is a veteran educator and long time Rotarian. He served the Iowa public schools as a teacher, principal, central office administrator, and superintendent of schools. In each of these roles he involved Rotary as a part of his personal and professional life. Dr. Jacobson has a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in Educational Administration and Psychology. Healso holds degrees from a college and two other universities. He served as a Charter Member of Cedar Rapids West Rotary Club, becoming its president in 1983. He currently serves as District Trainer in District 5970 and isa frequent presenter in many different Rotary Clubs.
He has authored two books. The first is titled, We Are What We Were When, a collection of essays on growing up in rural Iowa, and working in Iowa’s public schools. The second is, Motivating Adults:Communicating With Creative Intention. This is a book of strategies leaders can use when working with adults.
Mary Jane is a retired teacher. She spent her career teaching Mathematics to adolescents in the public
schools. She is also an avid quilter. She enjoys making quilts that challenge her. She has provided the family members with many of her creations. She is active in PEO, TTT, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Her most enjoyable time is helping raise her four grandsons ages 6, 5, 4, and 2. She enjoys her involvement in Rotary because of its many humanitarian efforts that help others throughout the world.
Dr. Jacobson maintains a passion for Rotary and the things it does to serve others. He considers is an honor to be able to serve District 5970 as its Governor-Elect. (Mary Jane)

Susan has served as the Director of Boone County Prevention, a substance abuse prevention agency,
since 1982. She authored the Code of Ethical conduct for Prevention Professionals that has been adopted by most state credentialing boards. Susan graduated with distinction from Ottawa University with a BA in Speech and Theatre Arts and did master’s work at Colorado State University. Susan is the author of “Party!”, a musical drama about choices facing adolescents. Susan’s husband, Bob, is a retired farmer and claims that his primary job now is “taking care of Susan.”
Bob and Susan are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Boone, Iowa, and Bob sings in the choir. He has been a Rotarian since 2003 and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Bob is currently serving on the District Youth Exchange Committee and the District Conference Committee.
Susan has been a Rotarian since 1993. but attended her first Rotary meeting with her father when shewas 9 months old. Susan has served as Assistant Governor for four years, chaired the substance abuseprevention committee, the club community service committee, and chaired the fundraising effort for District for the First National USA Special Olympics. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and is a member of the Bequest Society.
Susan was a member of the 2006 National Immunization Days Team to Niger, Africa and has spent thesubsequent months addressing District Rotary Clubs about this Polio Plus effort. Susan and Bob proudly share four children (David and Loraine of Boone, Ruth Ann and her husband, Joe Pomotto, with their first grandson of Ames, and Jim Mowrer and his wife, Chelsey, of Des Moines. Tom joined the Rotary Club of Green Bay, Wisconsin USA in 1996. The key event that shaped hisRotary experience happened in 1999 when the District Governor Nominee asked him to chair his District Conference. The two years of planning gave him the opportunity to become involved in club and district leadership, and for the first time look beyond his club.Tom joined his club board in 2000 and became president in 2002-2003. As a PE, Tom and his wife
Carolyn traveled to the International Convention in Barcelona, and came back with determination to raise $100 per capita for the Foundation. His fellow Rotarians responded and surpassed the request, raising many thousands of dollars. Tom served District 6220 as Family of Rotary Chair in 2003, and in 2004 he joined the Upper Midwest PETS Council as well as became an Assistant District Governor.
After growing up in Chicago, attending Albion College and the University of Michigan, Carolyn and Tom have lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin for the past 30 years. They have two children and four grandchildren. They own a small interior design firm with many loyal clients around the country. Tom says: “Rotary has filled a need in my life to share in service to others. It is the canvas on which we can create not only a vision of a better world, but show the faces of those we have touched”. (Carolyn)

Tom Marshall is a native of Wisconsin and calls Jefferson his home. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Wisconsin Rapids for 32 years. He has served as Club Secretary, Vice President and was Club President in 1985 - 1986. He also served as the club and District's Youth Exchange Officer for 32 years. His involvement with District 6250 includes serving as Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound Coordinator for the past 32 years. He has attended 4 International Conventions.
Professionally, Tom's career has been dedicated to education. He received both as Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse and a PHD from the University of Wyoming in the field of counseling psychology. He retired in 2004 as Director of Student Services for the Wisconsin Rapids School System. His dedication to service has included his community as well as Rotary. He has served as President of the local United Way and the YMCA, of which he served on the Board of Directors for 27 years. He also served with other organizations, and is a two time recipient of the "Citizen of the Year" honor for the greater Wisconsin Rapids area in years 2004 and 1987. He is only the second person in forty seven years who has received the award more than once.
Tom enjoys sports and is a loyal fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packer He will talk sports with anyone, anytime. He and his wife Joey have three children, all living in Colorado.(Joanne) |

Tamara Koop (Tamie) has been a Rotarian in the Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club since 1987. She has served on the club’s board of Directors in several capacities, was the Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club President for 18 months in 1993-1994, has served as International Committee Chair for the club, and is currently on the Club service committee. In May of 2007 Tamie traveled with a group of Oshkosh Rotarians to LaMolina and Ate’ Peru. While there, she met with Rotarians from District 4450 to discuss future partnership projects and to learn about the “Soy Cows” in Peru.
Tamie received a BS degree in Home Economics Education and Extension from UW-Madison, and a MS degree in Agricultural Industries from UW-Platteville. She worked four (4) years as the Oconto County UW Extension 4-H Youth Agent, and then was hired as the Waukesha County UW-Extension 4-H and Youth Development Educator in 1978. In January 2006, she retired after 32 years of service with the University of Wisconsin. In 2006 and 2007 she served as a special consultant with the University of Wisconsin Extension 4-H Youth Development program. In 1997, she was granted the rank of Professor in the Department of Youth Development with University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension.
Tamie is an active member in numerous professional and community organizations. This includes serving as one of the tri-chairwomen for the 2006 National Association of Extension 4-H Agent (NAE4-HA) Conference Committee. She is actively involved in the United Way – Strengthening Families Impact Panel, and many other volunteer organizations.
In addition to her community service activities, she is active in farm management in Ozaukee and Sheboygan Counties and resides in Waukesha County. Tamie enjoys photography, County Fairs, travel and golf.

James Prather (Jim) was invited to become a member of the Quad Cities Rotary Club in 1988, with a classification of Contract Specialist. He has served his club as President, 1994-1995, as Sergeant-at Arms, 1988-2006, and also on most of the club’s service committees. He is currently serving as a member of the District Literacy Committee, 1996-present; Public Relations, 2002-present; and World Community Service, 2004 -present. Jim is a Paul Harris Fellow +2, a charter member of District 6420’s Paul Harris Society, a Benefactor, a member of the Paul Harris 711 Club, and a Rotarian of Merit (1995). Jim has served District 6420 for the past five years as an Assistant Governor. He helped organize the 2004 District Conference, and served as Sergeant-at Arms for the 2007 District Conference.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Technician during the Viet Nam era. After his Navy experience he was a Customer Engineer with IBM for 13 years, owner-operator of a home entertainment sales and service company for four years, and is currently a Procuring Contracting Officer for the U.S. Army where he is the Senior Contract Specialist/Team Leader for the 40mm Grenade/Mortars Acquisition Team. He has also served as an adult literacy tutor, a youth mentor, and is active in his church. When he has time left after Rotary, his other interests and hobbies include building model airplanes, and “N’ and “HO” model trains.
Jim and Cheryl (Sherry) were married April, 1973 and they have two daughters who were Junior Rotarians.
Sherry is currently employed as a Legal Secretary, for the same lawyer that hired her 42 years ago. Her interests and hobbies include continuing to mother their two girls, and expanding her collection of vintage dolls. Sherry is also a Paul Harris Fellow.

Wilmette Harbor Rotarian, Pamela S. Kerr, served her club as President in 2003-2004. During her year as president, Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club was awarded outstanding achievement recognition in all four avenues of service at the District Conference. Pam has also served as her club’s membership chairman, club service chairman, secretary, club foundation chairman and a board director. At the district level, Pam was an assistant governor and outbound GSE coordinator for the Japan 2006 team. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and Benefactor, member of the International Fellowship of Yachting Rotarians and an active member of the Chicago Fleet. When residing in Tucson, Arizona, Pam makes-up at numerous local Rotary clubs and she and her husband, Andy, participate in the Tucson Rodeo to raise funds for local Rotary projects. Pam is a retired fund development consultant for museums, schools and foundations such as teenage Association of Women Lawyers. Prior to consulting, Pam designed and implemented occupational health monitoring systems. She has a degree in Hospital and Health Care Management and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Pam has been a volunteer for over 40 years, for numerous nonprofit organizations and clubs.
Pam was married in 1975 to husband Andrew D. Kerr, currently CFO and COO at Lake Forest Academy. They have two sons, Andrew Jr. (and daughter-in-law Lindsay) and Mathias. Drew was a Rotary exchange student to Austria in 1998. Matt worked with the Winnetka/Northfield, IL. Rotary Club for his Eagle Scout project and sent over 3000 children’s books to Uganda in 1999 as part of their Rotary SEED Project in Lyantonde. He was recognized at the Rotary African Presidential Conference in Kampala as an example of what one person can do to help eradicate illiteracy. Andy, Drew and Matt are all Paul Harris Fellows. Michael Slevnik began to cultivate his leadership skills at a very young age. In Junior High School, he was elected to the Illinois Association of Junior High Student Council Executive Board. In his Senior Year in High School, Michael was selected to attend a Washington Workshop in Washington D.C. He has had the honor of attending President Regan’s Inauguration.
Michael joined The Rotary Club of Homewood in 1990. Since he became a member, Michael has chaired numerous positions in his Rotary Club. In 2000, he traveled to Mendoza, Argentina to tour a Matching Grant Project sponsored his club. In 2000-2001, he had the honor of serving as President of the Homewood Rotary Club. His year as President can be summed up in one word – phenomenal! Michael’s quote “the more I learn about Rotary, the more I love Rotary” is spoken from the heart.. His Club’s achievement earned a proclamation from the Illinois State Senate and a Resolution for the Illinois House of Representatives. Michael served as President The Rotary Club of Homewood Foundation for two terms. An Annual Giving Program was created during his tenure as Foundation President, and has greatly provided additional funding for projects both locally and worldwide.
Michael’s list of involvement in Committees in the District is numerous. He has served as Assistant District Governor, Assistant Governor Coordinator, Membership Committee, Dental and Medial Committee, Public Relations Committee, District Assembly Committee, PETS Committee Chair, and currently, Michael is the General Chair of the Land of Lincoln PETS. He has also been involved, at Club level, on every project the Club has participated in since 1990.
Professionally, Michael has been a Private Detective for almost 16 years. Michael and Tina are both proud Paul Harris Fellows, and sincerely embrace their Rotary Family. (Tina)

Bob has been a Licensed Insurance Agent since 1970. He incorporated his own agency in 1985, which specializes in municipal insurance. He just retired from his assessing duties for a local township after 36 years. Bob was elected as the Supervisor for his local township board where he served 19 years and has since retired from that position. He currently serves as a board member for the Houghton Lake Ambulance Authority and the Houghton Lake Sewer Authority. Bob also serves as a board member and Treasurer for the Houghton Lake Improvement Board which oversees the water quality of Michigan’s largest inland lake, Houghton Lake.
Bob is engaged to a wonderful woman, Diane and a May 2008 wedding is planned. He has three children and seven grandchildren. Bob enjoys travel, golf, boating, fishing and astronomy.
Bob is an eighteen year member of the Houghton Lake Rotary Club. He has served as President, Chairman of the Membership Committee, and served as Treasurer for the 2006/2007 year. He has served as Assistant Governor, once in 1993/94 and again in 2005/2006. Bob is also a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. In February 2006 and 2007 Bob went to the Dominican Republic on a WCS project trip for the Bio-Sand Water Filter program, which his club has been involved and has supported since 2003. (Diane) |

In 1972, two significant events altered Bob’s life path in a most unexpected and positive way. First, he married Cindy Bereznoff who has been his partner in life for 35 years. Second, thanks to Cindy, Bob left the banking industry to begin a new career in the community mental health field. Bob has held several executive positions over the past 34 years including the past 15 years as Chief Executive Officer of Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems (TBHS). TBHS is a comprehensive community mental health authority. Bob recently retired from TBHS to become the President & CEO of Cass Valley Enterprises (CVE). CVE is an ISO 9001-2000 registered manufacturing business that employs people with disabilities and specializes in metal fabrication and assembly for the automotive industry and Department of Defense. Bob is active in a number of local, state and national boards and associations
Bob received his Bachelors degree in Management and Accounting from Western Michigan University. In 1981, Bob finished his Masters in Financial Management from Saginaw Valley State University.
He joined the Caro Rotary Club in 1992 and served as President in 2000/2001. He is a charter member of the Paul Harris Society, multiple Paul Harris Fellow and Benefactor. On a district level, Bob has served as World Community Service Chairperson, Assistant Governor and member of the Strategic Planning Group.
Cindy is a graduate of the Honors College at Michigan State University and the President & Chief Executive Officer of Chadwick & Associates/New Leaf Designs a small business consulting and graphic design company. Cindy is a member of the Rotary Club of Bay City, Past President and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and Benefactor. Bob and Cindy live in Bay City with their two Golden Retrievers (Tango & Cash) and their cat (Dickens).

Kelly has been a member of the Rotary Club of Mildmay since 1985 and was Club President in 1996 / 1997 and again in 2002 / 2003. Has served as Foundation chair, Vocational Service chair, Club Service chair and on the board of directors of the Mildmay Rotary Club. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Sustaining Member as well. Kelly was an Assistant Governor for 3 years 2004 / 2007 in District 6330 Area 2.
Kelly has worked in the transportation industry for the past 32 years holding such positions as: driver, dispatcher, operations manager and sales & marketing manger. For the last 7 years Kelly has worked from home office as a transportation consultant, for an office furniture manufacturer in Toronto, ON who ships their products to points in Canada & the United States. Since entering the transportation industry Kelly has always worked as a team with his wife Sharon who took care of the accounting & administrative side of the business.
Kelly and Sharon have been married for 38 years and live in the village of Mildmay. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. In their spare time Kelly and Sharon enjoy spending time with the grand kids, family and friends. Kelly loves to get out fishing, hunting and snowmobiling and travels to Northern Ontario several times a year to enjoy the beauty and isolation of the North. (Sharon) |

Renée was born and raised in Broadalbin, N.Y. Her family owned a restaurant where Renée served dinner to the local Rotary Club. She graduated from the State University of New York at Alfred with an associate degree in medical technology. The best part was she met her husband, Dick Merchant, there, where he graduated from Alfred University. They traveled to Ames, Iowa where Dick received an MS of Ceramic Engineering at Iowa State University. After serving in Viet Nam, Renée and Dick settled in Michigan with their two daughters. The girls died in childhood from a degenerative disease. In their memory, Renée and Dick are now benefactors to disAbility Connections in Jackson, Michigan. Renée has a BS in Management, and a MS in Organizational Behavior and Development (MSOD). She continues to serve on the EMU-COB Advisory Board. In 1982, she founded DELTA SYSTEMS, LLC, a team building consultation and training company. While working at Ford, Dick earned an MBA and MSOD degree from EMU. They are EMU benefactors. Dick retired from Ford Motor Company, and is now the firm’s business manager.
Renée has served the Boy Scouts since 1989. She has served as District Chairman, Exploring Chairman, Vice President for Manpower, and for Relationships. She will serve as Executive President of the Council in 2009. She is a James E.West, and a Silver Beaver honoree. Both Dick and Renée are Golden Eagle and benefactor donors. Renée and Dick serve as volunteer Chamber of Commerce Pitstoppers and Ambassadors at Michigan International Speedway.
Renée joined the Rotary Club of Jackson (Noon) in 1989. She served on the board twice, and on numerous committees. In 2003, Renée transferred to Michigan Center-Jackson County East Rotary Club and served as Centennial President. She served as Team Leader to the Group Study Exchange Team to India in 2000. While in India, the team participated in a National Immunization Day, giving polio drops to hundreds of children. Renée has served as GSE District Chairman since 2001. Stanely Sherman |

Stan has been a member of the Royal Oak Rotary Club since 1962. He has maintained perfect attendance for over 40 years. His Club conferred upon him the Paul Harris Fellowship for his contributions to the Royal Oak Rotary.
Stan served as Club President 1971-72 and currently is on the Scholarship/ STRIVE Programs mentoring two high school students at Dondero High School. He has served many years on the Club’s Auction Committee, the principal fund raising event. Stan also served the district as the Co-Chair of the Polio
Eradication Committee and Coordinator of the Jaguar Ticket Sales with District 6400 for the 2002 Woodward Dream Cruise which netted R.I.’s Polio Eradication Drive $375,000 after a matching grant from the Gates Foundation and the World Bank.
Stan was employed for over 30 years at the Daily Tribune in Oakland County, many as its Business Manager and Assistant Treasurer. After leaving the newspaper, he was the sole owner and President of a sheet metal fabrication shop in Livonia, Michigan. After selling his shop, he joined Berridge & Morrison Commercial Real Estate as a Sales Associate where is currently employed.
Stan served over 20 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Royal Oak, which is now Citizens Bank of Flint. He was recently awarded the City of Royal Oak’s 2005 Distinguished Citizen of the Year, which is given to a person who has contributed to the well being of fellow residents and the welfare of all citizens by giving tirelessly of their time and energy without the desire of recognition, remuneration or personal gain. In 2003 he was awarded The Royal Oak Historical Society’s Dr. Joseph S. Morrison Award named for a person helping to preserve Royal Oak’s past and shaping its future.
Stan and Serena Sherman have been married since 1971. They have no children but their four-year old Lab requires a great deal of their time. His hobbies are hunting, fishing, golf, walking and history. (Serena)

Bruce and his wife Sue own and operate Jackson Radio works, Inc., licensee of three radio stations in Jackson, Michigan. Bruce is the past chairman of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. For the past five years he has been a director on the Radio Board of the National Association of Broadcasters. Bruce has worked in the radio industry for over 30 years.
Bruce has been Rotarian since 1990, and was a member of the Adrian Noon, 1990-2000; Jackson Noon, 2000-2002. Bruce is currently a member of the Adrian Morning Rotary Club. He led a GSE Team to Japan in October 1997; Chaired or co-chaired the District 6400 GSE Committee 2003 -2006; member of the District Conference Committee 1999-Present. Bruce has held several club offices: President, Adrian Noon 1998-99; Secretary, Adrian Morning 2003-04; President, Adrian Morning 2005-06.

John Balvich joined the Rensselaer Rotary Club in 1986 serving as President in 2002-2003, then as Assistant District Governor in 2005-2007. John has served as District Public Relations Chairman, is a member of the District Administrative Council, and District Conference committee. He has served as an EREY Coordinator, is a Paul Harris Fellow and a charter member of the Paul Harris Society.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, John attended the College of DuPage and is a graduate of State Technical Institute. He is the President and CEO of Brothers Broadcasting Corporation, which operates radio stations in the state of Indiana. John has served as a member of the board of directors of the Indiana Broadcasters Association plus local boards of the United Way, Junior Achievement, Bombers for Academic Excellence, and Little Cousin Jasper Festival. He also serves on the Advisory of the Habitat for Humanity, and Honorary board member of the Northwest Rural Crisis Center.. John is Past President of the St. Augustine School Board, the Jasper County Youth Center and the Greater Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the VFW, American Legion and a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. John and Arlene have been married for 32 years and have three children, Rebecca (Mike), Cynthia, John Albert and granddaughter Kaitlyn. David V. Daugherty has been a member of Rotary since 1975 with membership in Rotary Clubs in Michigan, Connecticut, and Ohio. He served as President of Rotary Clubs of Hartford, Connecticut in 1987-1988 and of Mansfield in 2001-2002. In Connecticut, he was an Assistant District Governor for two terms and served in a variety of leadership posts. He served District 6600 as Registration Chairman for Rotary International President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar’s visit to Ohio in October 2005, for the 2006 District 6600 Conference, and as Registration Chairman for RI President Wilf Wilkerson’s visit in August, 2007. Daugherty was a Facilitator for the 2006 PETS seminar.
He is the former President/CEO of Rehabilitation Service of North Central Ohio, Inc. (The Rehab Center), a position he held from July 1996 until his retirement in July 2002. Daugherty has held significant leadership positions in the field of rehabilitation including Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the American
Rehabilitation Association and the National Industries for the Severely Handicapped. David is Past-President of Board of Directors of the Richland County Regional Planning Commission, a member and past Chairman of the Leadership Unlimited Members Group, a volunteer for the Richland County United Way, and Treasurer of the Oak Run Lake Association. He has served as Chairman or Treasurer for City of Mansfield Levy campaigns. He served as Chairman of the Richland County Heart Walk in 2006 and 2007. In September 2005, Daugherty was named by Governor Bob Taft to serve as a Commissioner on the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission. David lives in Mansfield with his wife, Jennifer. She is a registered nurse working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Columbus Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Previously, she worked in the NICU at St. Francis Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospitals in Hartford, Connecticut and champions causes for healthy infants and family centered care. Fran Bayless and her husband Tom are long time resident of Shaker Heights Ohio. Fran received her B.S. degree from Mary Washington College/U of Virginia, and is currently attending the Cleveland Institute of Art. She is a former Kindergarten teacher and Director of Kindergarten Education at Laurel School of Girls. Once retired, Fran worked at the May Co. as Director of Executive Development. Fran volunteers for numerous organizations, and Tom and Fran both completed the Shaker Heights Citizens Police Academy 10 week training program.
Because of Fran and Tom’s extensive travels and their photographs of wildlife, the started their current company World Nature Photos. Fran’s photos have been recognized for excellence by Leica Camera Corp and Kodak. She speaks to many groups on the importance of the environment and sustaining the wildlife. She was also mentioned in the Dr. Sylvia Rimm’s book “How Jane Won, 55 Successful Women Share How they Grew from Ordinary Girls to Extraordinary Women”.
Fran is a Past President of the Shaker Heights Rotary Club, and is currently a member of the Cleveland Club, where Tom has been a member since 1987. She currently serves the club on their Youth Services and International Service committees. Fran also served District 6630 as an Assistant Governor, District Conference Chair, and is currently a member of the Ambassadorial Scholarship committee.
Fran and Tom are members of the Paul Harris Society, Level 3 Major Donors, and Level 2 Bequest Society members. They have been married for 55 years, and have 2 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. (Thomas)

Bob was born and raised in Gering Nebraska, a small farming community in Western Nebraska. Jan was born and raised in Minerva Ohio and can be held responsible for bringing Bob to Ohio in 1966. Bob graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BS Degree in Chemistry and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Kent State University. He has been involved in public health for more than 45 years and currently serves as the Health Commissioner for the Canton City Board of Health. Jan and Bob have been married more than 41 years and have two sons, Jeff and Ben, and a daughter, Becki. All live in Stark or Medina counties and there are two grandsons, Brian and Eric, and one granddaughter, Elizabeth. Jan was a professor and Department Head in the Business Division of Stark State College for 25 years. She retired in 2006 after more than 30 years in education.
Bob joined the Rotary Club of Canton in 1972 and served as President in 1995-1996. He and Jan are Paul Harris Fellows, and Bob is a Benefactor and has more than 20 years of perfect attendance. He has served his club in many capacities and has served District 6650 as an Assistant Governor and as

Ralph is a Mathematics Teacher and Secondary School Vice-Principal. He retired 7 years ago after spending 32 years in education. He has written mathematics textbooks for the last 20 years and has 4 books presently in use from grades 9 – 12 in Ontario high schools. Ralph is married to Barb and they
have lived their life in Dundas and surrounding area, both growing up on farms. They have been married for 39 years, have two married children, and four grandchildren. Ralph and Barb enjoy golfing, curling and traveling, with these activities taking up much of their spare time. Ralph is on the Board of Directors for the St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation, a 378-bed long term care facility in Dundas, its Finance Committee and its Planned Giving Advisory Committee. Barb is an Administrative Coordinator with McMaster University and retired three years ago after 30 years with the University.
Ralph began with the Dundas Rotary Club in 1992 but left after two years when his job took him out of the area. In 1999, along with several other Rotarians, he helped start a new morning club in Dundas and became its Charter President. He was on the club’s Board of Directors until the 2006 Rotary year, serving as membership chair and communications coordinator. He served two years as
Assistant Governor and one year as District Governor Nominee for District 7090. In 2006, Ralph and Barb traveled to India in support of an RI Matching Grant for a limb camp in the city of Bareilly. Ralph is proud to be a multiple Paul Harris Fellow (Barb)

Christopher M Knoll is the Executive Vice President and Market Manager for both Corporate & Institutional Banking and Commercial Business Banking for PNCBank in Northwestern PA. Chris joined PNC in 1985 after seven years experience in Middle Market banking in Pittsburgh, PA and Dallas, TX.
Chris obtained his B.S. Management Degree in 1977 and M.B.A. in Business Administration in 1978 from Gannon University, and has completed numerous professional development programs.
Chris’s Rotary experience extends beyond 16 years with the Erie Rotary Club, including Past President; 6 years on its Scholarship Foundation Board, Board Director, Vice Chair, Program Director, he planned the itinerary and hosted the GSE French team in 2003, coordinated the Polio Plus Campaign for the 6 clubs in Erie County in 2002-2003, and he and his wife are very active in a Rotary Golf Exchange with District 1010 Scotland, having hosted twice and traveled to Scotland. He has served as an Assistant Governor in 2006-2007.
In service to his community, Chris serves on the Board of the French Creek Council of the Boy Scouts of America, of Hamot Health System & its Planning Committee, on the Executive Board of the Council of Fellows of Penn-State Erie; and on the Entrepreneurial Advisory Board & guest lecturer to the Business School Masters Program. He serves on several committees of the United Way of Erie County, on a number of business and industry committees, and he is a team leader on the Mayor’s Advisory Committee and Chair’s the major fundraiser annually for the Gertrude A Barber National Institute.
Chris was awarded the 2006 Distinguished Citizen Award by the Boy Scouts of America, the 2003 President’s Award from Gannon University’s Small Business Development Center in recognition of achievements and contributions to Erie County and Gannon University.

Jim Kunkelman was invited to become a member of Monroeville Rotary Club in the spring of1980. Jim quickly became committed to Rotary and in attendance at club meetings; he now has over 20 years of perfect attendance. He has held every office in his club including President in the 1991-1992 Rotary year. He has also served on many committees. At the District level, Jim has worked as a member of the Finance Committee, Group Study Exchange, Rotary Foundation Committee, and the District Conference Chairman for PDG Jose Ravano. In 2004, Jim retired after 36 years with Nationwide Insurance. Prior to the insurance business, Jim worked as a Production scheduler at the Mesta Machine Company.
Jim and his wife Sybil reside in Harrison City, PA. They have been married for 43 years and have two married sons. Gregg and his wife Julie have one son Kason and Dylan and live in Cranberry Township. David and his wife Denise have 2 daughters, Paige and Abbie and live in the Johnstown area. Jim and Sybil are both Paul Harris Fellows.
Jim’s hobbies include spending time with Sybil bicycling and camping in their travel trailer. He also is involved with Street Rods and owns a 1939 Chevrolet Street Rod which they enjoy driving it to events in the area and around the country. (Sybil)

Mary Berge |

Dr. Mary B. Berge, a member of the Rotary Club of Johnstown, Pennsylvania . Mary participated in Group Study Exchange (GSE) as a team member to Sweden. She joined the Rotary Club of Johnstown upon her return from the GSE in 2002. In 2005-2006, while serving as Club President, her club received many district awards including Club of the Year. At the club level, Mary has maintained perfect attendance and has served on numerous committees. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors and is the club’s Membership Chair. At the district level, Mary has served on the district’s Foundation Committee, GSE Committee and has acted as GSE Committee Chair from 2005–2007.
Mary and her husband Ivar are both highly involved in Rotary as it was Rotary that brought them together. They have hosted Youth Exchange Students and GSE teams, attended International Conventions and Zone Institutes, and have served Rotary internationally in both Nicaragua and India. Mary and Ivar are Paul Harris Society Members and Bequest Society Members to the Foundation. In 2005 Mary received Rotary’s Four Avenues of Service Award and in 2006 she and Ivar were named “Rotarian of the Year” together as a couple.
Although a native of Long Beach California, Mary relocated to Pennsylvania in 1995 and in 2003 she established Johnstown as her home. She is a graduate of the California State University Long Beach where she studied Psychology and Criminal Justice. She went on to receive a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. For the past seven years she has worked as a Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Director for a non-profit mental health agency specializing in the treatment of children afflicted with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Mary also maintains a Private Practice where she treats adults and families, and provides assessment and treatment for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. She enjoys traveling, entertaining, cooking and photography. But most of all, Mary’s greatest passion in life is being a Rotarian and serving others through Rotary, side by side with her husband.
